WR-ALC Legacy RF Code Converted

Chameleon used to convert obsolete RF Test Programs to LabWindows/CVI

Advint's Chameleon code transformer successfully completed transformation of the first set of APR-46 test program source code to National Instruments LabWindows/CVI™ for the United States Air Force (USAF) Warner Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC).  The conversion was based upon XML models developed for the legacy Colt code and translation to the ANSI C programming language.  ANSI C based test programs can be executed on most any modern testers including Teradyne's Spectrum 9100 automatic test system.  Translation models were developed to define the inter-relationship between old and new languages and tester peculiarities upon which the code conversion was based.  The transformation model converted the legacy Colt code to LabWindows/CVI including interfacing to  instrument driver software Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and WR-ALC's standard operator Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs).  The process resulted in greater than 99% code conversion.  After conversion the new code was successfully compiled, and executed in a simulation environment to verify proper operation.

Chameleon Code Transformer

The Chameleon facilitates quick and cost effective TPS re-host.  It provides multi-dialect code conversion with a single tool which is key to the Air Force since the depot contains many different types of testers all using different programming languages.  WR-ALC requires legacy languages to be modeled and converted to ANSI C using a single software translation environment.  Chameleon also ensures traceability between legacy and new target code.  The tool's open architecture approach allows update and customization by the end user as needs arise.  It also increases the conversion quality via systematic defined translation process.  Formatted output can be generated in customer specific formats to facilitate readability/maintainability in accordance with style guide requirements.
