Advint delivered a newly designed test system to Rolls-Royce for use in test of its industry leading barrel compressors for natural gas compression and pumping. The multi-stage barrel compressors provide the oil and gas industry with natural gas gathering, re-injection, lift, depletion, storage/withdrawal and re-pressurization solutions.
Rolls-Royce barrel compressors are the preferred choice for their high pressure ratios and low flow rates. Rolls-Royce barrel centrifugal compressors are found in a variety of natural gas compression applications. Installations include both onshore or offshore applications and range from single units to multiple-unit trains, driven by gas turbines or electric motors.
Advint’s test/data acquisition system consists of National Instruments PXI and SCXI chasses, line monitoring, digital barometer, humidity and temperature transmitter, and a multitude of differential/gage pressure transmitters, RTDs, and thermocouples. The system contains an industrial rack-mount server, and embedded controller for high speed performance. It provides high channel count for a wide variety of analog, temperature, pressure, and frequency inputs as well as analog outputs. The test system features and open-architecture scalable interface to support hundreds of different I/O. It is flexible & reconfigurable for user-selectable direct connect, and easily adaptable to different test requirements. It provides Current to Voltage precision resistors, and 4-20 mA sensor input. It also supports 2-wire & 4-wire transmitters, as well as 2, 3, and 4-wire RTDs. Signal cabling is twisted, shielded and compensated to ensure signal integrity.
