14 Additional Puma Testers Ordered

Advint receives order for fourteen (14) additional Puma test systems

Puma Test System

Advint recently received an order for fourteen (14) additional Puma test systems.  This order brings total Puma production to over 50 systems making it one of the most prolific automatic test systems available today.  The Puma is an industry leading rugged portable test system for factory to field support.  It provides a scalable, open-architecture platform for functional testing of a variety of digital, analog, and RF electronics/avionics.  It supports organizational, intermediate, and depot level test activities with a reduced logistics footprint.  The system is currently fielded in support of the Army, Navy, Marines, Homeland Defense, and multiple prime contractors.

The Puma employs a single frame, 19-inch rack-mount system that contains 3U PXI and SCXI chasses and a wide array of industry leading COTS instrumentation.  The system uses National Instruments LabWindows/CVI and LabVIEW test program execution under the control of TestStand test management software with IVI instrument drivers.  The Puma comes complete with power distribution, UUT power supplies, UUT isolation, and system cooling.  It uses MacPanel's Series L2000 interface test adapters to provide a reliable, high density, compact interface to the UUT.

Fully automated system Self-Test provides comprehensive tester operational assurance verification.  Field calibration via portable NIST traceable standards allows the tester assets to be calibrated in-system without the need for shipment back to a Calibration Lab.  Test results can be stored as XML or to an SQL relational database.  The system may be optionally equipped with a UPS power pack to allow operation from generators or any international power standard.

Its open architecture enables easy and cost effective technology insertion and customization to meet other test requirement needs for other testing applications.  Advint also provides automated test program source code conversion of legacy languages to modern programming environments using its Chameleon code transformer tool to facilitate re-host from obsolete ATE onto the Puma.
