Advint has been selected by Flowserve to develop a control system for reliability testing of industrial pumps. The project includes use of a PID loop for temperature control of up to six (6) autonomous industrial pump hot cells using National Instruments CompactRIO for data acquisition, data logging, and alarm handling.
CompactRIO is a low-cost reconfigurable control and acquisition system designed for applications that require high performance and reliability. The system combines an open embedded architecture with small size, extreme ruggedness, hot-swappable industrial I/O modules with a -40 to 70 °C operating range. CompactRIO is powered by reconfigurable I/O (RIO) FPGA technology and supports 40 MHz loop rates with its FPGA-based backplane.
The industrial pump hot cell data acquisition system consists of an 8-Slot CRIO chassis with a real time embedded controller. The chassis contains 0 to 20 mA Analog Input and Analog Output Modules, a Digital Input Module, and Switch Module. Software for the system will be developed using LabVIEW Version 8.6.
