Battelle selects Advint as part of Team to provide Logistics support of U.S. CBRN Defense Systems

Industry leading ruggedized portable test system for biological detection systems

A Battelle led team was awarded a $333 million, five-year contract to support the U.S. efforts to help protect U.S. military from Chemical, Biological, Radiological, & Nuclear (CBRN) threats. Battelle, as prime contractor, will manage the Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for CBRN Defense Systems program which provides logistical support to the FOX NBC Reconnaissance Vehicle and all fielded biological detection systems to include the JBPDS, JPS, JBSDS, and the P3I BIDS. The Battelle team includes Advint, ALOG, General Dynamics, Lockheed Martin, Odyssey, Sentel, and SESI. The contract provides logistics support with the intent to achieve a significant cost savings through the efficiencies of combining and consolidating the efforts across all systems.

A key part of this strategy is the use of Advint's Puma, also known as the Universal Mobile Tester (UMT), for system maintenance support. The Puma is an industry leading rugged portable tester for factory to field support.  It provides a scalable, open-architecture platform for functional testing of a variety of digital, analog, and RF electronics/avionics.  It supports organizational, intermediate, and depot level test of biological detection systems with a reduced logistics footprint.  The system is currently fielded in support of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Homeland Defense, and multiple prime contractors.
