recently developed a MIL-STD-1553 Software Data Verifier (SDV) for test of AN/ASN-157 Doppler Navigation Set (DNS) for use by the US Army Aviation Classification Repair Activity Depot (AVCRADs).
The system has the capability to validate software loaded in the DNS to prescreen unserviceable units prior to sending them out for repair.
The SDV determines if a 1553 data stream fault is present and allows the technician to reload unit software if necessary.
In addition, it presents control and status information in a graphical format for ease of use.
The AVCRAD's mission is to perform depot level aircraft maintenance for U.S. Army helicopters and classification in a theater of operation. There are four such facilities in the United States. They support approximately 2,000 military aircraft. Their day-to-day mission is to provide limited depot level maintenance and back-up aviation intermediate maintenance (AVIM) to Army National Guard aviation facilities.
